About James

James Zeleznik is a father, husband, business owner and volunteer who lives and works in Kelowna, British Columbia.

His family includes his wife Sandy and grown children Kassie and Ryan. Many of their favourite things to do together are outdoors; skiing, snowmobiling, hockey, golf, hiking and fishing are amongst James’ top hobbies. The Okanagan and its four seasons’ climate suit his lifestyle and he feels most accomplished when he is giving back to the community he loves.

As former Director for Habitat for Humanity, which he served for four years, James had the opportunity to assist in the building of two restores and six duplexes in Peachland. Habitat for Humanity benefited from his expertise as the owner and general manager of Jazel Homes, a custom home builder serving the span of the South Okanagan.

Jazel Homes has been a fixture in the local industry since it got started in 1989. By that point, James had earned certification as a Journeyman Carpenter (1984), and had almost ten years of experience in building houses.

The Jazel Homes approach to custom home building is all about making the experience as exciting and low-stress for the client as possible. James relies on his solid team of designers, builders and trade contractors to contribute their expertise in bringing each unique home vision to life.

James is a member of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association and is registered as a ten-year new home warranted builder. With project partnerships including Townhomes for Toys, Tallus Ridge and Exciting Home Plans, Jazel Homes is a bustling organization with big plans for the future.

As a dedicated member of his community, James continues to support the West Kelowna Food Bank, People in Motion and Pathways, as well as Habitat for Humanity.
